Welcome friends to The Crafty Reading Teacher Online Shop. My name is Michelle Chitwood and I am honored you have selected my site as a place to visit. The Crafty Reading Teacher started as a fun way to express my creative side by creating custom apparel for friends and family. As we grew and more children and families were searching for reading supports, I decided to add my educational expertise in the area of Reading to the platform.
Background:
I am an educator with 24 years experience in the Elementary School setting in a school district in North St. Louis County in Missouri. My current role in education is a Reading Specialist in a K-5 Elementary School. I am a certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner through the Wilson Reading System®. I have taught in a classroom setting in grades 1-3 as well.
